Who are we?
Alan Swartz
Alan Swartz grew up in The Dalles. After receiving a degree in mathematics from Reed College he rambled around the country as a bicycle mechanic, guitar tech, and registered nurse. He returned to The Dalles where he worked at The Dalles Music Shop until purchasing it and opening Second Street Music in 2022. If you have the time, pop in and talk to him about today’s New York Times, surfing, or any book ever written (he’s read them all - twice).
Rossco Wright
Rossco Wright has been a professional Guitar Technician since he was 19 years old. He was in business for himself at 25 and ran a guitar repair business for 30 years. There he was the Authorized Warranty Repair Service for Martin, Gibson, Fender, Takamine, Ovation, and Alvarez/Yairi.
Rossco and Frank Nakatsuma invented the SoloEtte Travel Guitar in 1993. Rossco was awarded a Trademark for the SoloEtte design, and while building 5,367 SoloEttes in Eugene, Oregon, with 10 employees, he simultaneously licensed the design to Aria Guitars who made 25,000 of them.
